ORDINANCE NO. 120491

Authorizing a cooperative agreement with Clay County, Missouri and the Clay County Collector for the collection of Kansas City property taxes and certain assessments and fees.

WHEREAS, the Clay County Collector has authority under state law to collect property taxes and special assessments on behalf of cities located within the county and to enter into contracts with cities for such purpose and to charge such collection fees as allowed by law; and

WHEREAS, the City would benefit from the collection of its property taxes and certain assessments and fees by the Clay County Collector for properties within that portion of the City situated in Clay County; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Director of Finance is authorized to execute on behalf of the City a cooperative agreement with Clay County, Missouri and with the Clay County Collector for the collection of Kansas City property taxes and certain assessments and fees as described in the agreement for properties within that portion of the City situated in Clay County, Missouri. The cooperative agreement is approved in substantial form as that attached to the original of this ordinance.
