ORDINANCE NO. 081235

Approving a $175,000.00 Amendment No. 4 with AquaLaw PLC for legal services in connection with the Overflow Control Plan and other environmental legal issues.  

WHEREAS, the City executed a $200,000.00 contract with AquaLaw PLC in May, 2005, and has executed three amendments for a total City obligation of $315,000.00; and

WHEREAS, Amendment No. 4 will allow continued legal services in connection with the Citys Overflow Control Plan and other environmental legal issues involving the Water Services Department; NOW, THEREFORE, 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY: 

Section 1. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a $175,000.00 Amendment No. 4 with AquaLaw, PLC. The sum of $75,000.00 has been previously appropriated in Account No. 8110-801000-B, with the remaining $100,000.00 contingent upon future appropriations. A copy of the amendment is on file in the City Attorneys Office.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation in the amount of $75,000.00, to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
