RESOLUTION NO. 050985

Establishing an enhanced enterprise zone board for Enhanced Enterprise Zone 1.

WHEREAS, Enhanced Enterprise Zone 1 is generally bounded on the north by the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri and the Missouri River, on the east by Baughman Road and the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri, on the south by East 23rd Street, and on the west by the city limits of the City of Kansas City, Missouri. Portions of EEZ 1 are located in Clay County, Platte County, and Jackson County; and

WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 1155, passed in the 2004 legislative session by the 92nd General Assembly, created the new Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) Program and requires that any governing authority seeking designation of an enhanced enterprise zone shall establish a 7-member enhanced enterprise zone board; and

WHEREAS, the Council adopted Resolution No. 050844 on July 28, 2005, authorizing the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, to submit an application on behalf of the City for designation of an enhanced enterprise zone program area, to be known as Enhanced Enterprise Zone 1, to the State of Missouri; and

WHEREAS, the State requires that the Council resolution establishing the EEZ Board be attached to the application to the state; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Council hereby establishes an enhanced enterprise zone board for the Kansas City Enhanced Enterprise Zone 1, the first board consisting of the following appointees, provided that the other affected taxing jurisdictions will appoint a member for a 5 year term:
