RESOLUTION NO. 081259

 

Honoring Ron Goold on his retirement after 10 years and 2 months of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, prior to working for the City of Kansas City, Missouri, Ron worked for 10 years as Chief Engineer at Water District #1 of Johnson County, Kansas and 13 years as Director of the Water Department for the City of Independence, Missouri; and

 

WHEREAS, Ron began work with the City of Kansas City, Missouri on October 16, 1998; and

 

WHEREAS, Ron spent his entire career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri as an Assistant Director with the Water Services Department, where he first supervised all water, wastewater, and stormwater field operations and then later placed in charge of all water operations (water treatment plant, pipeline, dispatch, and meter field services); and

 

WHEREAS, Rons hobbies include tennis, racquetball, biking, mountain climbing, calligraphy, and traveling; and

 

WHEREAS, Ron looks forward to his retirement in order to spend more time with his wife, Joyce, and their three grandchildren; and

 

WHEREAS, December 31, 2008, marks the last day of Rons career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mr. Ron Goold, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with appreciation for his 10 years and 2 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Ron Goold in token of their respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
