RESOLUTION NO. 120476

 

 

Commending the recipients of the 2012 George Ehrlich Achievement in Preservation Award and the Stewardship of the Historic Built Environment Award.

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission of Kansas City, Missouri, created the Preservation Awards to recognize those individuals or groups who have made contributions to historic built environment of Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission voted unanimously to award seven Dr. George Ehrlich Achievement in Preservation Awards for rehabilitation, including Neighborhood Housing Services for the rehabilitation of 3640 Tracy; Chuck Schmidt for the rehabilitation of the Bon Air Apartments; MAC Properties for the rehabilitation of multiple Armour Boulevard apartment buildings; Reeves-Wiedeman Company for the rehabilitation of the O.H. Dean Building; The Alexander Company for the rehabilitation of the Courthouse Lofts; Anthony Marstall for the rehabilitation of 1908 Maple Court and 313 Ord Street; and Thomas Ricker for the Rehabilitation of 3643 Baltimore; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission voted unanimously to award one Dr. George Ehrlich Achievement in Preservation Award for infill design to Chabot Development for the house at 220 W. 52nd Street in the Simpson-Yeomans/Country Side Historic District; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission voted unanimously to award one Dr. George Ehrlich Achievement in Preservation Award for historic neighborhood organizations to the Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Association for the publishing the book: Pendleton Heights: Then and Now; and the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association for producing its 30th Historic Homes Tour; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission voted unanimously to award the Wornall House Museum Association a Stewardship of the Historic Built Environment Award for their stewardship for the Wornall House and the Alexander Majors House; and

WHEREAS, that the city of Kansas City, Missouri, commends all these people for their dedication to the preservation of historic properties, NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby commend the recipients of the 2012 George Ehrlich Achievement in Preservation Award and the Stewardship of the Historic Built Environment Award; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy here of be presented to each of these individuals and groups with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council, and citizens of Kansas City for their commitment to Kansas City’s historic properties.
