RESOLUTION NO. 910711, AS AMENDED
Approving the Little Blue Valley Plan as a guide for the
future development and redevelopment of the area generally bounded by 40
Highway and Independence city limits on the north, Lee's Summit Road on the
east, 350 Highway and Unity Village city limits on the south, and Raytown city
limits on the west.
WHEREAS, the City Development Department has
initiated a study delineating the characteristics of the Little Blue Valley
area; and
WHEREAS, said study focuses on the development and
redevelopment of the area generally bounded by 40 Highway and Independence city
limits on the north, Lee's Summit Road on the east, 350 Highway and Unity
Village city limits on the south, and Raytown city limits on the west; and
WHEREAS, as a result of said study, the City
Development Department has prepared a framework for the orderly development and
redevelopment of the Little Blue Valley area; and
WHEREAS, the City Development Department has
incorporated its findings in the Little Blue Valley Plan; and
WHEREAS, legal notice of the public hearing before
the City Plan Commission was published on May 6, 1991, in conformity with state
and local law; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission did hold a public
hearing on May 21, 1991, and did recommend approval of the Little Blue Valley
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission recommends that
the City Council adopt the Little Blue Valley Plan as a guide for future
development and redevelopment within the area generally bounded by 40 Highway
and Independence city limits on the north, Lee's Summit Road on the east, 350
Highway and Unity Village city limits on the south, and Raytown city limits on
the west; and
WHEREAS, certain modifications were recommended for
approval by the Plans and Zoning Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to decline certain
recommended modifications and to adopt the Plan as recommended by the City Plan
Commission; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Little Blue Valley Plan as
prepared by the City Development Department and as recommended for adoption by
the City Plan Commission on May 21, 1991, and incorporating certain
modifications be and the same is hereby adopted by the City Council as a guide
for development and redevelopment of the area described therein. A copy of
said revised plan is on file in the office of the City Clerk under Document No.
910711 and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. That the Council finds and declares that
before taking any action on the proposed plan, all public notices and hearings
required by law have been given and had.
