COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 910472

 

Approving the 1991-1992 contract with the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Kansas City, Inc., in the amount of $2,614,800.00 for services to be rendered by it and approving the terms and conditions thereof.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Kansas City, Inc., for services to be rendered during the 1991-92 fiscal year. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

 

Section 2. That the terms and conditions thereof, including the obligation of the City to pay a maximum amount of 40% of the 5 1/2% Convention and Tourism Tax on sleeping rooms, currently estimated to be $2,614,800.00 for the services to be rendered by the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Greater Kansas City, Inc., from funds heretofore appropriated to Account No. 036-95311, Convention and Visitors Bureau, for the one (1) year term hereof, be and they are hereby approved.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
