RESOLUTION NO. 950615

 

Recognizing Jeanne L. Freeman on the occasion of her retirement from the Hickman Mills C.S.D. School Board.

 

WHEREAS, Jeanne Freeman has served on the Hickman Mills Consolidated School District School Board for twenty-four (24) years having been the president for seven (7) years, and she acts as the Treasurer and C.S.D. #1 Liaison for the Advisory Committee for the formation of the Metropolitan Junior Colleges; and

 

WHEREAS, she has served her community and church faithfully and tirelessly through her membership and acceptance of leadership roles in various organizations including the Hickman Mills Council of the Parents and Teachers Association, the Missouri Congress of Parents and Teachers, and the Hickman Mills Community Scholarship Foundation; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Freeman has also been active in such national organizations as the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association in addition to serving as the Area Chairperson of the Heart of America United Way; and

 

WHEREAS, she also has engaged in other civic activities, including the UMKC's Women's Council, Women's Alliance of Hickman Mills, Southeast Coalition of Concerned Women and Harmony in Hickman Mills (charter member); and

 

WHEREAS, after twenty-four (24) years of outstanding service Jeanne L. Freeman is retiring from the Hickman Mills School Board; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council do hereby recognize and commend Jeanne L. Freeman on the occasion of her retirement from the Hickman Mills C.S.D. School Board after twenty-four (24) years of dedicated service; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and a copy be presented to her wishing her a long and prosperous retirement. _______________________________________________
