ORDINANCE NO. 941439

 

Authorizing expenditure of $8,861.50 in additional funds for construction of water main relocations in View High Drive from 96th Street to 98th Terrace in connection with Jackson County, Missouri roadway improvements.

 

WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 921408 in December 1992, authorizing Agreement No. 6408 with Jackson County, Missouri for View High Drive improvements from 96th Street to 98th Terrace; and

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 921408 authorized expenditure of $17,000.00 to fund water main adjustments in connection with Jackson County's roadway improvements; and

 

WHEREAS, funds for the work were authorized based on the estimated cost of the work and now that bids have been received by the County, additional funds are required; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to relocate and reset a fire hydrant in the project which was not indicated on the original plans, NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Water and Pollution Control is hereby authorized to expend the additional sum of $8,861.50 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 95-801-080- 7701-T for Contract No. 6408 for water main relocations in the area of View High Drive, to be incorporated into said contract by change order. _____________________________________________

 

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
