COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 120652

Authorizing the Director of Water Services to enter into a contract with Beemer Construction Company, Inc., for City Wide Valve Repair & Replacement Renewal 1; authorizing the expenditure of approximately $1,000,000.00; and authorizing a renewal subject to future appropriations by the City Council.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute Contract No. 8855, Project No. 80001598, with Beemer Construction Company, Inc., for the City Wide Valve Repair & Replacement Renewal 1. A copy of the contract is on file in the Office of the Director of the Water Services Department.

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend up to the sum of $1,000,000.00, from Account No. B-8010-807703-B-611060, Water Main Const/Rehab to satisfy the cost of this contract.

Section 3. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute the City’s renewal option for this contract without additional Council approval subject to future appropriations by the City Council.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
