RESOLUTION NO. 960292
Welcoming the NAACP Annual Region IV Leadership
Conference to Kansas City.
WHEREAS, The Kansas City, Kansas Branch of the NAACP
is hosting this year's Annual Region IV Leadership Conference at the Adam's
Mark Hotel on March 21-23, 1996; and
WHEREAS, Region IV is primarily made up of ten
states - Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, North and South Dakota,
Colorado, Wyoming, Iowa and Montana; and
WHEREAS, the Association is 87 years old and speaks
effectively to the advocacy of civil and human rights of all Americans; more
specifically African Americans; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby welcome the
participants in this years NAACP Annual Region IV Leadership Conference to
Kansas City, Missouri; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be
spread upon the Minutes of the Council and that copies hereof be presented to
Region IV of the NAACP in token of the respect and appreciation for the
efforts taken on behalf of the civil rights and civil liberties of all people
including the citizens of Kansas City.
