RESOLUTION NO. 160599

 

Amending the Midtown / Plaza Area Plan for an approximate 2.5 acre tract of land generally located at the southwest corner of 44th Street and Washington Street by changing the Recommended Land Use Map from residential low, residential medium and residential high all to residential urban land use. (727-S-4)

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted by 4400 Associates, LLC c/o Block Real Estate Services, LLC, Ken Block, represented by Evan Fitts, Polsinelli PC to amend the Midtown / Plaza Area Plan as it affects an approximately 2.5 acre tract of land generally located at the southwest corner of 44th Street and Washington Street, changing the Recommended Land Use Map from residential low, residential medium and residential high all to residential urban land use; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on July 19, 2016; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on July 19, 2016, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Midtown / Plaza Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Midtown / Plaza Area Plan is hereby amended for an approximately 2.5 acre tract of land generally located at the southwest corner of 44th Street and Washington Street by changing the recommended land use map from residential low, residential medium and residential high all to residential urban land use. A copy of the amendment to the Midtown / Plaza Area Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A and is incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Midtown / Plaza Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
