RESOLUTION NO. 010615

 

Congratulating CS 1 Elementary School in presenting Down in the Dumps on Friday, April 20, 2001.

 

WHEREAS, CS 1 Elementary School is located at 45th and Wyoming and is a small private school that considers the city as its classroom which they explore; and

 

WHEREAS, on Friday, April 20, 2001, CS 1 Elementary School, in conjunction with Earth Day, will perform Down in the Dumps, a recycling play written by Heartland All Species Project; and

 

WHEREAS, All Species Project is a process of building a sustainable community through the use of art, pageantry, science and action projects with Marty Kraft exploring green neighborhood community building; and

 

WHEREAS, All Species Project builds a sense of community while reestablishing the connection to the natural world; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate CS 1 Elementary School for presenting Down in the Dumps; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to Marty Kraft, Heartland All Species Project, and CS 1 Elementary School with the heartiest congratulations and appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for making everyone aware of the growing need to preserve the earth.
