SECOND COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 100641

 

Amending Article VIII of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri relating to the Classification and Compensation Plan, amends Sections 2-1076 and 2-1117 and adopting in lieu thereof new sections of like number which creates and deletes one job classification, and clarifies language regarding rights of unclassified employees formerly classified.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That Article VIII of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri, relating to the Classification and Compensation Plan, is hereby amended by repealing Sections 2-1076 and 2-1117 and enacting in lieu thereof new sections of like numbers which creates and deletes one job classification and clarifies language regarding rights of unclassified employees formerly classified.

 

Sec. 2-1076. Salary schedules for occupational group classified as clerical, fiscal, and

administrative with class code, class title, and pay grade therein.

 

The following schedules are hereby adopted as the salary schedules for the following classes of positions as set out below by class code number, class title, and pay grade therein:

Sec. 2-1117.  Rights of unclassified employees formerly classified.

 

When any person in the classified service, who has been or shall be appointed to any position in the unclassified service, shall later be removed from such position, he shall be reinstated in his former position or a position in the same department of equal rank, service and salary, together with all rights and privileges to which he would have been entitled had he remained in the original position in the classified service.

 

The City Manager has the authority to determine whether:

a. The salary will be adjusted in accordance with the pay ordinance in effect. 

or

b. In the event of a demotion, the salary of an affected employee may be stabilized even if the salary for that employee would be outside of the established pay range.
