ORDINANCE NO. 910468

 

Accepting and approving an agreement with the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center whereby the Center will provide medical care for the indigent for one year beginning May 1, 1991, for which the City will pay $534,914.00, providing for the cost of administering the agreement, and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the agreement between the City, acting through the Director of Health, and Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, acting through its Director, whereby the Center will provide medical care for the City's indigent during the period May 1, 1991, through April 30, 1992, for which the City will pay $534,914.00 is hereby approved and accepted. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the sum of $534,914.00 is to be paid from funds provided in the 1991-92 budget Ordinance No. 910374 in the following accounts in the following amounts:

 

001-51700-B Health Centers $191,619.00 33-51700-B Health Centers 343,295.00

 

Section 3. That the amount of $16,047.00 as specified in the contract, may be retained by the Health Department to partially offset the cost of administering the agreement and may be used in such manner and for such purposes as the Director of Health may determine.

 

Section 4. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage. ___________________________________________________

 

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
