ORDINANCE NO. 060952

 

Reducing and reappropriating the Contingent Appropriation of the General Fund by $350,000.00 for Emergency Building Demolition of a Commercial Structure located at 900 E. 21st St.

WHEREAS, the City has begun emergency demolition of a commercial structure located at 900 E. 21st; and

WHEREAS, the current FY 2006-07 City budget does not provide adequate funding for the emergency demolition of commercial structures of this magnitude without severe impediment to the Citys emergency residential building demolition program; and

WHEREAS, the City will pursue litigation in an attempt to recover the costs of this demolition which could take several years to resolve; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the following account in the General Fund is reduced by the following amount:

07-1000-179990-B Contingent Appropriation $350,000.00

Section 2. That the sum of $350,000.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

07-1000-572340-B Building Demolition $350,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
