RESOLUTION NO. 081168

 

Recognizing the commitment and dedication of Bradley M. Scott, through the U.S. General Services Administration, to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, Bradley M. Scott was appointed Regional Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) by President George W. Bush on September 17, 2001; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott was born in Warrensburg, Missouri, attended Blue Springs High School, and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelors degree and from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Masters degree in Political Science; and

 

WHEREAS, upon being selected as the Regional Administrator of GSA, he has been actively involved with award-winning renovation and new construction projects in Kansas City, has been a leader in public sector real estate development, and has been repeatedly honored for his work and dedication to the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott oversaw the $200 million renovation of the Richard Bolling Federal Building, the reinvestment of the old Kansas City main post office, and the creation of the new, 1.14-million-square-foot IRS Kansas City campus in downtown Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott is leading the effort to redeploy the Bannister Federal Complex, and secure employment for more than 2,000 workers at a new Kansas City Plant manufacturing center for the National Nuclear Security Administration; and

 

WHEREAS, upon approval from Congress, Mr. Scott has successfully engaged the community in support of a new federal office building to be built in downtown Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Scott is married to Colleen Scott and with their son, Bridger Madison Scott, reside at Lake Lotawana, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the commitment and dedication of Bradley M. Scott, through the U.S. General Services Administration, to the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Bradley M. Scott with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for his dedication and service to the improvement of Kansas City.
