Determining the compliance of the
project of the Chambers Loft 353 Redevelopment Corporation Project located at
25 E. 12th Street; and authorizing issuance of a Certificate of
Completion for the project of the Old Town Redevelopment Corporation for the
Chambers Loft 353 Redevelopment Project. (572-S-1)
WHEREAS, the City
Council passed Ordinance No. 020425 on April 25, 2002, which approved the
application and the development plan submitted by Old Town Redevelopment
Corporation for the redevelopment of that area generally located at the
southwest corner of 12th Street and Walnut Street, 25 E. 12th
Street, on approximately 0.2 acres; and
WHEREAS, Old Town
Redevelopment Corporation has requested a Certificate of Completion for the
project area pursuant to Section 74-17(d) of the Code of Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the
redevelopment project proposed the completion of the rehabilitation of the
12-story historic structure into residential units with some commercial uses on
the first and second floors; and
WHEREAS, Paul Stark,
AIA, NCARB, has certified that the improvements were completed in compliance
with the approved 353 plan; and
WHEREAS, on November
16, 2004, the City Plan Commission reviewed the development plan and determined
that the construction proposed in the development plan for the project of the
Chambers Loft 353 Redevelopment Project occurred and recommended that the City
Council authorize the issuance of a Certificate of Full Completion to Old Town
Redevelopment Corporation for the project; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That the
Council finds and determines that the Chambers Loft 353 Redevelopment Project
have been completed and that the construction is in compliance with the
development plan.
Section B. That the
Council hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of City Development to
issue a Certificate of Full Completion to Old Town Redevelopment Corporation
pursuant to the terms and conditions of the development plan and redevelopment
contract and pursuant to Section 74-17(d), Code of Ordinances of the City of
Kansas City, Missouri, for the Chambers Loft 353 Redevelopment Project.
