ORDINANCE NO. 100747

 

Approving the 6th District Pedestrian Intermodal Transportation Connector Plan (PITC) as a supplement to the Trails KC Plan and the FOCUS Plan, and as a guide for future shared-use trails, greenways and intermodal transportation connectors in the 6th Council District.

WHEREAS, the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, recommends the development of trails as a means to create a connected city, improve neighborhood livability and to positively impact the image of the City; and

WHEREAS, the Trails KC Plan was adopted as the comprehensive citywide trail system for Kansas City, Missouri on November 20, 2008, by Ordinance No. 081052; and

WHEREAS, the City, the 3-Trails Village Community Improvement District and the Martin City Community Improvement District dedicated resources to conduct additional planning and analysis for Trails KC routes in the 6th Council District; and

  WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission voted to ____________ the 6th District PITC Plan on _________, 2010; and

  WHEREAS, it is considered to be in the community interest to adopt the 6th District PITC Plan as a guide for shared-use trails development in the 6th Council District; NOW, THEREFORE,

  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

  Section A. That the 6th District PITC Plan is hereby approved as a guide for future shared-use trails, greenways and intermodal transportation connectors in the 6th Council District. A copy of the 6th District PITC Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A incorporated herein by reference.  

Section B. That the 6th District PITC Plan is consistent and complies with the Trails KC Plan, adopted on November 20, 2008, by Ordinance No. 081052, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan and the Trails KC Plan.

  Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed plan, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
