ORDINANCE NO. 120595

Authorizing the City Manager to execute the Second Amendment of a contract with the Metropolitan Energy Center to further the EnergyWorks KC program.

WHEREAS, the City was one of 25 entities nationwide selected by the Department of Energy (DOE) to be a recipient of a Better Buildings Program grant and the City has negotiated a revised scope of work consistent with a grant award in the amount of $20,000,000.00 in order to implement the EnergyWorks KC (EWKC) program over a three-year period; and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Ordinance 100787, the City entered into contract no. EECBG-ARRA-OEQ-2 (Contract) with Metropolitan Energy Center (MEC) to effectuate the EWKC program; and

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Ordinance 110657, the City entered into a first amendment to the Contract with MEC to continue the EWKC program; and

WHEREAS, in order to meet the grant award requirements established by DOE, the City must amend the Contract with MEC to account for the third programmatic year; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute a second amendment to the Contract with the Metropolitan Energy Center to further the EnergyWorks KC initiative. A copy of the second amendment is on file with the office of the City Clerk.
