ORDINANCE NO. 100279

 

Amending Chapter 70, Code of Ordinances, by enacting a new Section 70-540, Diplomatic vehicle parking, pertaining to the reservation of parking spaces for diplomatic vehicles.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That Chapter 70, Code of Ordinances, is hereby amended by enacting a new Section 70-540, Diplomatic vehicle parking, to read as follows:

 

Sec. 70-540. Diplomatic vehicle parking.

 

(a)    The director is hereby authorized to designate and establish parking spaces for the exclusive use of diplomatic vehicles and shall place and maintain appropriate markings or signs indicating the reservation.

(b) The director shall determine which parking spaces shall be reserved for the exclusive use of diplomatic vehicles and shall mark or sign such streets in a manner sufficient to identify the location of the reserved parking spaces.

 

(c) No person shall park, or cause to be parked, any vehicle, except a diplomatic vehicle, within any parking space reserved for the exclusive use of diplomatic vehicles.

 

(d) “Diplomatic vehicle” means a motor vehicle bearing a valid diplomatic license plate issued by the United States Department of State.

 

(e) Any person violating any provision of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than $25.00 and not more than $500.00.
