RESOLUTION
NO. 190959
Approving an application to the
United States Environmental Protection Agency for a Brownfields Assessment
Coalition Grant in the amount of $600,000.00; authorizing the City of Kansas
City, Missouri to enter into a coalition with the Mid-America Regional Council,
Jackson County, Missouri, and, the Unified Government of Wyandotte
County/Kansas City, Kansas and to submit the Grant; authorizing the Mayor to
submit a letter accompanying the Grant application expressing the City’s intent
to enter into the coalition; and authorizing the Director of City Planning and
Development to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with Coalition members.
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE
COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the application
of Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) for a
Brownfields Assessment Coalition
Grant (“Grant”) in the amount of $600,000.00 for the assessment of hazardous waste brownfield sites and petroleum brownfield sites located in the bi-state
region, a copy of which,
in substantial form is attached
hereto, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That
the City of Kansas City,
Missouri (the “City”) enter into a coalition with MARC, Jackson County,
Missouri and the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas (“UG”)
to submit the Grant.
Section 3. That the Mayor is empowered
to submit a letter accompanying the Grant application expressing the intent of the City to enter
into the above- mentioned coalition.
Section 4. That the Director of the
Department of City Planning is authorized to enter into a Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) with MARC, Jackson County, Missouri and the UG concerning the
implementation of the Grant, if awarded.
