ORDINANCE NO. 120562
Authorizing the Director of Parks
and Recreation to execute a cooperative agreement with the Mid-America Regional
Council for use of the Energy Works KC grant for the Brush Creek Community
Center Energy Efficiency Project; estimating revenue and appropriating
$100,000.00 to the Community Center Fund; and designating requisitioning
authority.
WHEREAS, the
Parks and Recreation Department applied for a grant through the Energy Works KC
program administered by Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) to make energy
improvements to Brush Creek Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the
Department will hire an energy auditor as part of the grant requirements to
conduct a preliminary analysis which will determine the exact improvements that
will be made under this grant; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Parks and
Recreation is hereby authorized to execute a cooperative grant funding
agreement between MARC and the Kansas City, Missouri Board of Parks and
Recreation Commissioners for the use of Energy Works KC grant funds as provided
by the Department of Energy for energy efficiency improvements to Brush Creek
Community Center.
Section 2. That the revenue in the following
account in the Community Center Fund is hereby
estimated in the following amount:
13-2370-700000-479993 Brush
Creek Center Energy Improvements $100,000.00
Section 3. That the sum of $100,000.00 is
hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Community
Center Fund to the following account in the Community Center Fund:
13-2370-702519-B Brush
Creek Center Energy Improvements $100,000.00
Section 4. That the Director of Parks and
Recreation is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No.
13-2370-702519.

I hereby certify that there is a balance,
otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the
foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise
unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is
to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
