ORDINANCE NO. 170326

 

Amending the Kansas City Register of Historic Places designation (H/O Overlay) for the “Pendleton Heights Historic District” by revoking the district designation for certain parcels located at the following addresses: 517 Woodland Avenue, 502-20 Maple Boulevard, 1800 Brownell Avenue, 1806 Brownell Avenue, 1810 Brownell Avenue, 1812 Brownell Avenue, 1816 Brownell Avenue, 418-20 Maple Boulevard as required by Chapter 88-580-02 of the Administrative Code of the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Kansas City Register of Historic Places (H/O Overlay) designation for the Pendleton Heights Historic District is hereby amended to revoke the district designation for certain parcels addressed at 502-520 Maple Boulevard, 517 Woodland Avenue, 1800 Brownell Avenue, 1806 Brownell Avenue, 1810 Brownell Avenue, 1812 Brownell Avenue, 1816 Brownell Avenue and 418-420 Maple Boulevard from the Pendleton Heights Historic District (H/O Overlay) pursuant to Chapter 88-580-02 of the Zoning and Development Code of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, said properties are legally described as follows:

Colonial Court – 502-520 Maple Boulevard:

 

ALL OF LOTS 2, 3, 4 AND 15 AND ALSO THE EAST 39.61 FEET OF THE SOUTH 32 FEET OF LOT 16, WILLIAM W. KENDALL’S FIRST ADDITION, A SUBDIVISION IN KANSAS CITY, JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI, ACCORDING TO PLAT BOOK 15, PAGE 23; and

 

517 Woodland Avenue:

 

LOT 14, WM W. W. KENDALL’S 1st ADD. TO KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, A SUBDIVISION IN KANSAS CITY, JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI, SOMETIMES HAVING PREVIOUSLY BEEN REFERRED TO AS WILLIAM W. KENDALL’S 1st ADD. AND/OR W.W. KENDALL’S FIRST ADD, ACCORDING TO PLAT BOOK 15, PAGE 23; and

 

1800 Brownell Avenue:

THAT PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 33, TOWNSHIP 50, RANGE 33, KANSAS CITY, JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT A POINT 75 FEET WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF THE WEST LINE OF MAPLE AVENUE, AS ORIGINALLY ESTABLISHED, WITH THE NORTH LINE OF BROWNELL AVENUE; THENCE WEST ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF BROWNELL AVENUE 75 FEET; THENCE NORTH AND PARALLEL WITH THE WEST LINE OF MAPLE AVENUE 163 FEET 5 INCHES; THENCE EAST AND PARALLEL WITH THE NORTH LINE OF BROWNELL AVENUE 75 FEET; THENCE SOUTH AND PARALLEL WITH THE WEST LINE OF MAPLE AVENUE 163 FEET 5 INCHES TO BEGINNING; and

 

418-420 Maple Boulevard Avenue:

 

ALL THAT PART OF THE WEST ½ OF THE SOUTHEAST ¼ OF SECTION 33, TOWNSHIP 50, RANGE 33, IN KANSAS CITY, JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF MAPLE AND BROWNELL AVENUES IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, AS SUCH CORNER EXISTED AT THE TIME OF THE ESTABLISHMENT, OF MAPLE AVENUE AS A BOULEVARD BY PROPER AUTHORITIES OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI; RUNNING THENCE WEST 75 FEET; THENCE NORTH 81.75 FEET; THENCE EAST 75 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 81.75 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, EXCEPT THAT PART OF SAID TRACT HERETOFORE CONVEYED TO KANSAS CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF A BOULEVARD KNOWN AS MAPLE BOULEVARD; and

 

ALL THAT PART OF THE WEST ½ OF THE SOUTHEAST ¼ OF SECTION 33, TOWNSHIP 50, RANGE 33, IN KANSAS CITY, JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT A POINT 81.75 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF MAPLE AND BROWNELL AVENUE IN KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, AS SUCH CORNER EXISTED AT THE TIME OF ESTABLISHMENT OF MAPLE AVENUE AS A BOULEVARD BY PROPER AUTHORITIES OF KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI, RUNNING THENCE WEST 75 FEET; THENCE NORTH 81.75 FEET; THENCE EAST 75 FEET; THENCE SOUTH 81.5 FEET TO BEGINNING, EXCEPT THAT PART OF SAID TRACT HERETO BEFORE CONVEYED.

Section 2. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning and Development Code have been given and had.
