RESOLUTION NO. 911523

On the death of Mr. Dennis L. Cole.

WHEREAS, Mr. Dennis L. Cole was employed by the Public Works Department of Kansas City, Missouri, since June 23, 1988; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cole was, on October 21, 1991, promoted to the position of Equipment Operator II, assigned to the Street and Traffic Division, District 4; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cole has been recognized by his supervisors for consistently providing exceptional service on varying assignments; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cole's job performance made him a good representative for the City of Kansas City; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cole was well liked by his co-workers; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cole, on November 8, 1991, lost his life in the line of duty, in a tragic equipment accident; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Council does hereby extend its deepest sympathy to Mr. Cole's son, Deangelo, his father, Oddis Cole, his brothers, sisters and other family members; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony hereof and be presented to his father, Mr. Oddis Cole, honoring Mr. Cole posthumously for his service and expressing condolences for his untimely death.
