Designating Grand Avenue from Main Street to the Missouri River Levee Road at the ASB Bridge as an addition to the park and boulevard system and authorizing its transfer from the Public Works Department to the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners.

WHEREAS, Grand has been proposed as a boulevard in the adopted Plan for Parks, Boulevards and Parkways, March, 1983; and

WHEREAS, Grand was proposed as a boulevard in the Grand/Main Corridor Plan as adopted by the City Plan Commission on March 1, 1988; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners desires that Grand Avenue between Main Street and the Missouri River Levee Road at the ASB Bridge be part of the park and boulevard system to insure that it will forever remain a boulevard; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to reassign to the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners certain property interest now assigned to the Public Works Department known as Grand Avenue from the Missouri River Levee Road at the ASB Bridge to its intersection with Main Street.

Section 2. That the street name be changed to "Grand Boulevard" said property to be part of the park and boulevard system forever in accordance with Article III, Section 58 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri.

Section 3. That trucks may be allowed on this portion of the boulevard system.
