ORDINANCE NO. 910463

 

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with Truman Medical Center whereby the Center will provide medical care for the indigent for one year beginning May 1, 1991, for which the City will pay $25,106,480.00, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Truman Medical Center (TMC) whereby TMC will provide in-patient and out-patient medical care to the indigent for a one year period beginning May 1, 1991 through April 30, 1992. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That the sum of $25,106,480.00 shall be paid for those services to TMC during the one year period, from funds provided in the 1991-92 budget, Ordinance No. 910374 from Account Nos. 001-51500-B and 33-51500-B.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage. ___________________________________________________

 

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
