ORDINANCE NO. 950253
Authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into an
agreement and First Supplement Agreement with Continental Consulting Engineers,
Inc., for engineering services for the N.E. 100th and Woodland sanitary sewer
improvement project and to expend $3,740.00 for the agreement and $260.00 for
engineering and administration associated therewith; appropriating $4,000.00
for the project; and directing the cost of this contract to be included in the
costs assessed against properties benefitted by the project.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized to enter into and execute, on behalf of the City, an
agreement and a First Supplement Agreement to Agreement No. 930000, between
Continental Consulting Engineers, Inc., and Kansas City, Missouri, relating to
engineering services in connection with the sanitary sewer improvements for
Sewer Districts 22027 through 22038 in the N.E. 100th and Woodland area to be
completed in two phases:
Phase A: Engineering Design
Phase B: Construction Observation
and to provide for Phase B, all in Kansas City, Missouri,
Council District 1, Project No. 3373. The agreement shall be essentially in
the form which is attached and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. That the sum of $4,000.00 is
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Sewer Special
Assessment Bond Fund to the following account in the Sewer Special Assessment
Bond Fund:
95-301-089-6130-T Sewers at N.E. 100th and
Woodland $4,000.00
Section 3. That the Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized to expend the sum of $3,740.00 as and for consideration in
the aforesaid agreement and $260.00 for engineering and administration
associated herewith from funds heretofore appropriated to Account No.
95-301-089-6130-T.
Section 4. That when the sewer system designed
under this contract is built, the cost of this design contract shall be
included in the costs to be specially assessed against the benefitted
properties as provided in Article VIII of the City Charter; and the proceeds
from the assessment of that cost shall be returned to the Sewer Special
Assessment Fund.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
