ORDINANCE NO. 970932
Authorizing the Director of Environmental Management to
accept a grant from the Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management
District (MARC) for the purpose of developing and implementing a Sustainable
Lifestyle Campaign; estimating revenue and appropriating $51,500.00 to reflect
that funding; designating requisitioning authority for the account; and
recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Environmental
Management is hereby authorized to accept a grant in the amount of $51,500.00
from the Mid-America Regional Council Solid Waste Management District for the
purpose of developing and implementing a Sustainable Lifestyle Campaign.
Section 2. That the revenue in the following
account of the General Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:
98-100-085-7591 MARC Sustainable
Lifestyle $51,500.00
Section 3. That the sum of $51,500.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the
following account:
98-100-085-1450-B MARC Sustainable
Lifestyle $51,500.00
Section 4. That the Director of Environmental
Management is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No.
98-100-085-1450-B.
Section 5. That this ordinance, making an
appropriation for the current expense of the City, is recognized as an
emergency measure within the provisions of Section 15, Article II of the
Charter of Kansas City, and shall take effective immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
