ORDINANCE NO. 031293

Amending Article V of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri, relating to Departments, by repealing Section 2-493, and enacting in lieu thereof one new section of like number and subject matter which clarifies the duties of the Director of Water Services.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That Article V of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri, is hereby amended by repealing Section 2-493, Powers of director, and in lieu thereof the following section is hereby enacted:

Sec. 2-493. Powers of director.

In addition to those powers granted to the director of the water department as set forth in the City Charter, including but not limited to Article III, Sections 44 through 49, the director shall have charge of and responsibility for the planning and construction of all sewers and sewage treatment works which are to be financed from revenue from sewer service charges, and by the sale of bonds redeemable from sewer service charges. When any consumer has paid more than the amount due, as determined by the director, on the consumers account within the Water Services Department, a refund of the amount so overpaid shall be made or credited by the director, at the directors discretion.
