RESOLUTION NO. 010840

 

Recognizing Dave King for his outstanding accomplishments as a former Raytown C-2 School Board member.

 

WHEREAS, Dave King was first elected as a Director of the Raytown C-2 School Board on April 5, 1988, re-elected in 1992, 1995 and 1998; and

 

WHEREAS, Dave served 12 years on the Board and during that time was Treasurer in 1992-93, Vice-President in 1993-94, Interim President in 1993 and elected President in 1994-95; and last six years represented them in the Distinguished Youth of Missouri and Miss Teen of Missouri Scholarship and Recognition Program; and

 

WHEREAS, during his years in office, some of Daves accomplishments were being Accredited with Distinction for High Achievement in Performance by DESE and Missouri Board of Education, passing two major bond issues which brought about additions to many buildings and complete renovation of Raytown High, addition of middle school activities program at both middle schools, and implementation of the Academic and Conduct Eligibility Standards program which provides assistance for students whoa re experiencing academic difficulties; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize Dave King for his outstanding accomplishments as a former Raytown C-2 School Board member; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Dave King with the heartiest congratulations of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for his many accomplishments in serving the community of Kansas City.
