COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 941490

 

Authorizing the Director of City Development to enter into a lease agreement between the City and the R.L. Polk Co., for a term of seventeen months beginning November 1, 1994, at the rate of $2,500.00 per month, for office space, utilities, furnishings and parking for a building located at 400 East Linwood, for the TIF Midtown Market Place Project.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of City Development is authorized to execute on behalf of the City, a lease agreement, whereby the City leases from the R.L. Polk Co., a Delaware corporation, for seventeen months beginning November 1, 1994, approximately 6,000 square feet of office space situated in a building located at 400 East Linwood at the rate of $5.00 per square foot per year, with utilities and parking included, for a total rent of $42,500.00 for the term, to be paid from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 95-100-064-2020-B, to house relocation staff for the TIF Midtown Market Place Project. A copy of the lease agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
