Description: Tax Increment Financing is a financing/development tool that allows for payments in lieu of taxes to be used to pay for approved project related costs, infrastructure and capital improvements. TIF can also issue bonds and has power of eminent domain. APPOINTMENT PROCESS: Mayor appoints 6 members with City Council approval. NUMBER OF CITY MEMBERS: 6 TERM: 3 years
